Come spend your summer with us at Sports Camp developing your fundamental skills, competing with the highest sportsmanship, and bonding with your fellow campers through teamwork. Our core sports are basketball, soccer, and flag football. Campers and counselors also have a blast playing, kickball, whiffle ball, floor hockey, dodgeball and more. We are the place for the aspiring athlete in your family.

James Watkins is entering his second year as Sports Camp Director and his third year involved with Sports Camp. A high school basketball standout at both Woodrow Wilson High School and W.T. White James developed a passion for coaching basketball at Next Level Basketball under the guidance of Coach Kessler Shepard. His coaching experience ranges from coaching professional athletes all the way down to preschool students and includes basketball, soccer, flag football and baseball. James is focused on having his players improve every time they step out on the court stating “I teach youth to fall in love with the process of becoming better! When the intrinsic love of becoming better is established, that’s when results start to come more rapidly!”. He is excited to welcome your camper to Sports Camp this Summer.
Yes, we do play many of our sports outside. We try to keep most of our outside games in the morning when temperatures are cooler. We also have frequent mandatory water breaks and inside breaks throughout the day.
Our three focus sports are basketball, soccer, and flag football. We work on those fundamentals and compete in those sports in the mornings depending on the week. In the afternoon we play a variety of recreational games such as kickball, whiffle ball floor hockey, and dodgeball.
No, swimming is optional. However, the entire camp will be at the pool during free swim. If your child is not a strong swimmer they can stay in the shallow end. All swimmers will be watched closely by lifeguards and counselors. If they choose not to swim they can hang out on the pool deck.
Campers should wear athletic shorts, a t-shirt or tank top and tennis shoes or high tops. Please make sure to apply sunscreen before coming to camp and we will make sure your child re-applies it during the day. A swimsuit, towel, and sandals are recommended even if your child says they will not swim. Also, a change of clothes is a good idea in case they sweat through their first outfit.
